Freight Consolidation for Norwich                    Civitas_Logo.jpg

Norwich is a historic city with many listed buildings and conservation areas and at the same time is a thriving regional commercial and retail centre. The Norwich Freight Consolidation Centre aims to reduce the number of vehicles delivering into the city and is one of a number of measures forming part of the CIVITAS initiative for cleaner and better transport in cities, which is co-financed by the European Union.

Benefits to business in Norwich:

  • Helping to reduce congestion
  • Improving air quality
  • Allowing more frequent deliveries
  • Offering more convenient delivery times
  • The potential to reduce stockholding in store
  • The potential to increase retail space
  • The option for out of hours delivery (early and late)
  • Making the city even more attractive to business, residents, visitors and shoppers

Benefits to people in Norwich:

  • Deliveries in "clean" low emission vehicles to improve air quality
  • Consolidation means fewer vehicles delivering into the city centre which in turn gives:
